Review draft — not yet effective. Prepared 18 October 2026. Effective date: [EFFECTIVE DATE]. Operator: [LEGAL ENTITY OR INDIVIDUAL NAME], [ADDRESS] (“we”, “us”). Product: Codexgram. These placeholders and the reviewer notes must be resolved before publication.
About these terms
These terms are proposed for your use of Codexgram, a photo-sharing application provided by [OPERATOR]. Read them with our Privacy Policy. [CONFIRM HOW USERS WILL BE SHOWN THESE TERMS AND EXPRESS AGREEMENT BEFORE USING THE SERVICE.] The current code does not record agreement to a version of these terms. This draft does not retroactively establish acceptance.
Eligibility and accounts
[PROPOSED ELIGIBILITY — CONFIRM BEFORE PUBLICATION: You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into these terms.] The current app does not verify age. Availability is limited to [SUPPORTED COUNTRIES / BETA AUDIENCE].
An account is required to access community content. Authentication is handled through Clerk. The app offers email/password registration and verification, sign-in and password reset, and Google/Apple sign-in where configured and available. Keep your credentials secure and contact [ACCOUNT SUPPORT CONTACT] if you believe someone has accessed your account without permission. Do not impersonate another person or use another person's credentials without authorization. Choose a username you are entitled to use; usernames must be unique within Codexgram.
What the service currently provides
The current development/beta supports profiles, single-photo posts, optional captions, likes, flat comments, following people, connection lists, search and chronological feeds. Home shows your own and followed accounts' posts; Explore and profiles can show eligible community content from people you do not follow.
Community profiles, posts, comments and connection lists are available to other eligible signed-in users. Posts are not restricted to followers. The current Private Account preference does not make cloud posts private. Do not upload content on the assumption that only chosen friends can see it.
Some screens are prototypes. Messages and attachments entered there stay on the device and are not delivered to another person. Local report drafts are not submitted to a moderation team. Local block preferences do not establish a cloud block. Voice/video calls and voice recording are not connected. Do not rely on these prototype controls for confidentiality, safety reporting or emergency assistance.
The current beta has no Codexgram subscription, purchase or service charge. These terms do not authorize future charges. Network or device-service charges from your own providers are separate from Codexgram.
Content you share
You retain your rights in photos, captions, comments and profile content you provide. You are responsible for having the rights and permissions needed to share that content, including relevant permissions relating to identifiable people. Do not upload material that infringes someone else's rights or unlawfully reveals their personal information.
[PROPOSED CONTENT LICENSE — OPERATOR/COUNSEL APPROVAL REQUIRED: You grant [OPERATOR] a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, copy, process, resize and display your content solely as needed to operate Codexgram and make it available through the features you use. Service providers may process it on our behalf for those purposes. This license does not transfer ownership or authorize unrelated advertising, AI training or resale of your content. It lasts while the content remains in the service and, after a deletion request, only as needed for the applicable deletion/backup cycle or lawful retention described in the Privacy Policy.]
Other users may see, save outside the app or take screenshots of displayed content. The service cannot recall copies they made independently. Other users do not receive an unrestricted right to reuse your work merely because it is visible in Codexgram.
Acceptable use and technical limits
[PROPOSED COMMUNITY RULES — APPROVE BEFORE ADOPTION:] Use Codexgram lawfully and respect other people's rights. Do not use it to share unlawful or infringing material; sexually exploit children; threaten, harass or target people with abuse; impersonate others; publish others' private information unlawfully; distribute malware or fraudulent material; or attempt unauthorized access to accounts, data or infrastructure. Do not circumvent access restrictions, disrupt the service or abuse automated requests. These rules are not a claim that automated moderation detects violations.
The current uploader accepts a single square JPEG of up to 5 MiB and 1440 pixels wide. Captions and comments are limited to 500 characters. Username, name and bio length rules are shown in the app. Cropping and compression can change a photo's appearance. Provider service limits and connectivity can affect availability. No unlimited-use promise or application-level daily quota is made.
For a safety, copyright or legal complaint, use [MONITORED SAFETY/COPYRIGHT CONTACT]. The current local Report control is not a substitute for that channel. [CONFIRM A WORKING CHANNEL AND REVIEW PROCESS BEFORE PUBLIC ACCESS.]
Your controls and leaving the service
You can edit profile text, unlike posts, unfollow accounts, delete your own comments and delete your own posts. Deleting a post hides it from the normal queries and schedules removal of its photo and associated likes/comments. Scheduled cleanup is not instantaneous and does not remove independently retained copies.
You may stop using the app and sign out. Signing out or uninstalling does not delete your Clerk account or Convex data. Coordinated in-app account deletion is not implemented in this build. For account/data requests, contact [VERIFIED ACCOUNT/PRIVACY REQUEST CONTACT]. [INSERT THE ACTUAL VERIFIED PROCESS AND TARGET TIMES; DO NOT PUBLISH A NONFUNCTIONAL CONTACT.] Our Privacy Policy describes current storage and deletion limits.
Service restrictions and suspension
The backend supports restricting suspended accounts, and suspended authors' content is excluded by normal visibility checks. [PROPOSED OPERATOR POLICY — CONFIRM: We may restrict access when reasonably necessary to address a breach of these terms, a security incident, unlawful activity or a legal requirement. Where appropriate and legally permitted, we will explain the reason and offer a way to contact us at [APPEAL CONTACT].]
No functioning user moderation console, automated content-screening guarantee, appeal workflow or fixed review deadline is represented as available. Account suspension does not by itself erase stored content. [APPROVE TERMINATION GROUNDS, NOTICE, REVIEW AND RETENTION PRACTICES.]
App intellectual property
The application software, branding and other service materials are owned by their respective rights holders. These terms do not transfer those rights to you or expand the licenses of open-source components. You may use the app for its intended functions; this does not authorize misuse of someone else's content or brand. [CONFIRM OPERATOR OWNERSHIP AND DISTRIBUTION RIGHTS, INCLUDING DEMO IMAGERY.]
Third-party services
Clerk provides authentication; Convex provides application data and photo storage. Google or Apple may provide a sign-in service you choose. Expo/EAS and development tunnel services may be used to build, distribute or connect development versions. External hosts may serve profile images. These services can be unavailable or subject to their own applicable terms and privacy practices.
Use of a separate third-party service or account remains subject to the terms applicable to that relationship. This section does not incorporate every vendor business-to-business agreement as an additional contract with you. See the provider links and processing information in the Privacy Policy.
Availability and warranties
[PROPOSED DISCLAIMER — COUNSEL APPROVAL REQUIRED:] This is a development/beta service. Features may be incomplete, interrupted or changed, and prototype functions may not deliver content. To the extent permitted by applicable law, the service is provided “as is” and “as available”; we do not promise uninterrupted operation, error-free software or guaranteed preservation of your content. Keep copies of photos you need. Nothing in these terms excludes a warranty or remedy that applicable law does not allow us to exclude.
Liability
[INSERT APPROVED LIMITATION-OF-LIABILITY WORDING, ANY CAP/FORMULA AND SPECIFIC EXCEPTIONS AFTER CONFIRMING GOVERNING LAW, AUDIENCE AND INSURANCE. NO MONETARY CAP OR ARBITRATION WAIVER IS AGREED BY THIS PLACEHOLDER.]
Any limitation must preserve non-excludable consumer rights and liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including applicable rules concerning fraud, intentional misconduct and personal injury. The fact that the current beta is free does not establish an agreed zero-liability cap.
Changes and disputes
[INSERT APPROVED METHOD AND ADVANCE NOTICE PERIOD FOR MATERIAL TERM CHANGES, HOW A NEW VERSION IS PRESENTED, AND WHEN IT BECOMES EFFECTIVE.] No versioned acceptance/change-notice mechanism is currently implemented. New legal obligations are not silently imposed by this draft.
Governing law: [GOVERNING LAW]. Courts/venue: [VENUE]. Dispute process: [APPROVED PROCESS]. Any mandatory protections and forum rights remain applicable. This draft contains no compulsory arbitration agreement or class-action waiver.

Reviewer notes — remove only after resolution
- This is publication-shaped draft text, not a final or currently accepted contract. The evidence inventory establishes current behavior; bracketed license, eligibility, conduct, suspension, warranty and liability provisions are proposed legal choices requiring approval.
- Resolve every placeholder in Open questions, establish a monitored request channel and implement the approved presentation/assent process. Do not describe draft adoption as an implemented account control.
- No paid-terms, subscription, refunds, AI-output, perpetual marketing license, blanket vendor-terms incorporation, arbitration, class waiver or indemnity was invented. Add any such provision only after an actual business/legal decision and applicable-law review.
- Current deletion, moderation, privacy/block prototype gaps and stale in-app notices must be addressed separately from this document. Source evidence is in Evidence inventory.
- Have a qualified attorney in the relevant jurisdiction review this draft before publication or reliance on it.
